How Long does it take for the carpets to dry

Our dry times typically range from 2 to 6 hours. On average, it takes about three to five hours. Humid days may take your carpet and furniture longer to dry. Many factors, including weather, humidity, and airflow can affect the time needed to dry. With the hot water extraction method (steam cleaning), drying time is minimal and depends on the following factors: Type of carpet material, weave, and pile level of soil air circulation in the home humidity levels. Encapsulation carpet cleaning has the fastest dry times and is known in the industry as low moister cleaning. We offer both hot water extraction and encapsulation carpet cleaning methods.

What is encapsulation carpet cleaning?

Encapsulation carpet cleaning also known as “encap” or “encapping.” is a low moister carpet cleaning method which has been used in residential carpet cleaning and commercial carpet cleaning. Encapsulation uses a very new and revolutionary different type of chemistry! The encapsulation cleaning system applies a cleaning solution containing a crystallizing, acrylic polymer.

It is this polymer that helps create the magic of encapsulation. Encapsulation formulas also contain other cleaning components such as surfactants. The other ingredients, aid in breaking the bond between dirt, grease & grime and the carpet fibers. The encapsulation cleaning solution is usually worked into a carpet with an agitation machine. The machine types used include Cimex, Rotary Brush, Rotary Bonnet, Oscillating Pad (OP). There are others as well.

The agitation facilitates in breaking the chemical bond between dirt and fiber. It also mixes the encap solution with the soil and sticky-residue. Upon drying, the solution crystallizes rendering the residue to be completely non-sticky. Routine vacuuming removes the encapsulated particles. Whichever machine is employed, well-formulated encapsulation detergents can produce remarkable and incredible results! Most suppliers of encap products explain it as surrounding or encapsulating the dirt.

A stain is a foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) on the carpet that is not usually removable by standard cleaning methods. (The foreign material has penetrated soaked into fiber and has changed or damaged the fiber itself). Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to remove. If we can not remove the stain, then it may not be possible to remove it. It depends on the stain. Which provides better indoor air quality: hardwood, or carpet?

Carpet actually acts like a filter to trap pollutants that a professional carpet cleaner can remove. As long as you maintain a regular cleaning schedule, carpet provides much better indoor air quality than hardwood. When customers have hardwood they will notice there is more dust in the air which settles on their shelves, TV and many other surfaces around the home resulting in constant dusting. The carpet is not dirty or the source of the dirt. The source of the soil and dust come from outside the home, from food that accidently drops on the floor, from dead skin produced by humans and animals and many other sources. The carpet acts like a filter and traps these contaminates that would circulate in the air.

Why is it recommended to have your carpets and upholstery cleaned regularly?

When you vacuum your carpet, you are removing the surface dirt and contaminants and giving it a fresher look. However, over time, the carpet fibres become soiled with ground-in dirt and oils from daily life, spills, children, pets, and other causes. If left undisturbed, these contaminants not only affect the appearance of your carpet; they also cause it to wear out faster and, more importantly, they can pose health risks, especially to people with allergies or asthma and to small children who spend a lot of time on the floor. The best way to maintain a cleaner and healthier home is to supplement your regular vacuuming with professional cleaning, which will get deep below the surface to remove what you can’t see. In the same way, furniture and upholstery should be routinely maintained to retain its original appearance; this includes tending immediately to spills and stains. A professional carpet cleaner can help you extend the life and esthetic appeal of the fabric and reduce the level of pollutants it has absorbed over time.

Why hire a professional when I can do it myself?

No two carpets are the same when soiled. A professional has the knowledge, training, expertise, processes and equipment needed for each situation. They will determine the correct procedure and technique for multiple carpet and upholstery fabric care and complete the task professionally and efficiently. Most rental machines are unable to provide the superior cleaning you will get from professional equipment. They cannot reach the required high temperature or vacuum strength, and the cleaning product will either be inferior or unable to perform as needed with these machines. Additionally, excess moisture and soap residues remain in the carpet, leading to problems such as bacteria, microbes, and mold growth. Soap left in the carpets will also act like a magnet, attract and hold soil resulting in dark spots forming over a period of time on the surface of the carpet, area rug or fabric. A trained carpet cleaning professional is knowledgeable in the PH (Potential Hydrogen) scale and knows how to leave the carpets residue free, clean and soft to the touch. Knowledge into the PH scale of cleaning agents, types of fibers and the PH of common spots is paramount in the cleaning process. Professional cleaning removes the risk while giving you peace of mind that the job will be done professionally.
